Environment prosperity & Conservation campaign
The volunteers of National Service Scheme have to be a regular activity of 120 hours in each year and a total of 240 hours on whole and they have to attempt one special camp out of two years of their volunteer ship to get the completion certificate of NSS.
120 Hours of regular activity is divided as follows in which Volunteer work
- Area based project 1 (40 Hours)
- Area based project 2 ( 40 hours)
- University level project (20 Hours)
- College level project (20 Hours)
Residential Camp
SEVEN DAYS RESIDENTIAL CAMP 15TH TO 21ST DECEMBER 2016
The National Service Scheme of the College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Goveli organized seven days residential camp during the period from 15/12/2016 to 21/12/2016 at Belpada Tal-Kalyan,Dist-Thane. National Service Scheme volunteers, in seven days of residential camp, did cleanliness of the village, survey, sex education, computer literacy activities, small road repair, public awareness programs on many social issues, construction of embankments, fire line, beautification of burning ground etc. these programs were implemented at Belpada village. During this period, on a variety of topics, arrangements were made for the development of personality development of volunteers, in which biodiversity, street training, superstition eradication, women empowerment, environment, sustainable from waste, competition examination guidelines etc. various competitions and cultural events were organized along with the lectures. 37 volunteers and 41 volunteers and two Program Officers participated in this Camp.
Kalyan Regional co-ordinator Prof. Prashant Saudekar visited the camp and guided students and instructed them.
By the order of Mumbai university, This campaign was based on the concept of ‘Swachha Bharat Abhiyan’.Through this initiative, the cleaning of entire village was achieved.The volunteers in this camp helped the local masses understand the significance of their well-being .This camp ended on 21/12/2016.
District Level Residential Camp
The NSS unit of Arts, Commerce and Science College, Goveli organiseda 7 Day District Level Residential camp From 10th February 2016 to 16th February 2016 at Mhaskal village, Tal:- Kalyan, Dist :- Thane . The main theme of this seven day District level Special Residential Camp was“SWACHHA BHARAT ABHIYAN”
Over 58 male volunteers, 46 female volunteers were present at this camp. On the occasion of opening ceremony of this District level Special Residential camp many dignitaries were present at the venue. The NSS Coordinator of university Hon Prof B.S.Bidve sir, President of JeevnadeepShaishanikSansthaGoveliHonMr RavindraGhodvindesir , Principal Dr. K.B.Kore sir , Ms IndaviTulpule ,Sarpanch of Mhaskal village , citizens & other dignitaries were present at this ceremony .
In this 7 day Special Residential Camp, a lot of programs were implemented like cleaning of public toilets, digging of soak pits, village survey, gardening, creating awareness regarding cleanliness, school decoration, Street play on Social issues, Women empowerment, Road repairing, Health check up camp for villagers, Eradication of Superstition , Environmental Conservation , Best out of waste. Girls were personally given the training of self defence, were showndemonstrations of self defence and made to do it. Apart from this a guest lecture by Mr. SuhasPawar Sirwas arranged for the basic knowledge of snakes in which a basic handling of snakes was taught in order to create awareness regarding the precautions of snake bite.
The entire responsibility of organizing and planning this camp was with Arts, Commerce, and Science College Goveli and NSS program officer Prof Bhagyasgri Pawar.
Repairing and Reconstruction of Road
Goveli Thakurpada is a village situated 2 kms away from National Highway 222. How ever there is no concrete road made in this village even after the approval from GramPanchayat. It becomes really difficult to travel to and from GoveliThakurpada and keeping that in mind our volunteers helped repair and reconstruct the road.this helped the 21 families and school students for travelling.
Voting Awarness Programme
1st October 2016 National Service Scheme volunteers went to Rayte village and made public awareness and filled the voting form of 132 local people by visiting their houses.
15th October 2016 NSS volunteers presented a street play in Goveli village and filled 58 voting registration forms in Goveli village and 537 in college.
25th January2017 Voting day was celebrated in college by the National Service Scheme Department to make people aware that voting is the need of the time. On this day voters were present on the occasion, where Voter ID cards were allocated to 474 voters who had filled the voting form.To create more awareness about voting rights an Elocution competition took place in college premises in the presence of voting officer.
HIV Testing Camp
1ST TO 3RDDECEMBER 2016 (GOVERNMENTAL SCHEME FAIR):NSS volunteers participated in Governmental Scheme Fair which took place at Murbad. Our volunteers did excellent work in that camp like making queue; filling forms, helping beneficiaries to reach at stalls etc. As well as while this fair was going on HIV week was celebrated so volunteers tied Red ribbon’s as sign of protest to all beneficiaries & Chief guest.
05TH DECEMBER 2016 (ESSAY COMPETITION):-On this occasion our unit organized an essay competition in which 30 students participated.
6TH DECEMBER, 2016 (DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF DR. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR):On this occasion, Department of NSS. Paid homage to the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and volunteers performed street play on Eradication of HIV at Goveli village. This medium was used to spread awareness among people.
Saree Distribution for Widow Women
About five thousand women were present at the program of ‘ SAREE DISTRIBUTION’. This program was organized in our college. Our NSS Volunteers managed, planned, organized the event, and took care of roads safety etc.
Mahila Rojgar Melava
The NSS department organized a women employment fare on October 9th 2016 for the women living in areas nearby our college. Our volunteers visited nearby villages and informed the women about that event. As a result, this event turned out to be a big success. over 137 women registered their presence. 89 women, from the 137 women who participated found employment in an undergarments company called Juliet Apparels ltd Kongoan. The company provided them with bus or other facilities of transportation. So these women are working whole heartely for their better livlihood. On the grounds of this success, the NSS department organized yet another campaign like the earlier one on January 22nd 2017. In this event the volunteers worked on encouraging more and more women to join this initiative and tried to get to know the problem of women already working.
Many families benefited from this programme.This initiative saved many families from falling apart. But most importantly it has helped women understand their worth and increased their self- esteem.
One Day Work Shop on Womens Self Help
On 17th January 2017, National Service Scheme and Women's Forum Department organized a one-day legal workshop by inviting women Self help groups in the area.150 women’s took part in this session. Attendees and testimonies of the groups were honoured. The program received a good response from women in the area. Our 57 volunteers done the management work like filling up the form, lunch arrangement etc
Free Distribution of Official Certificates to Students
The students often need various kind of governmental official document for educational purposes or to receive benefits of different governmental schemes. The students and citizens from rural areas often have to face many obstacles and issues to receive these certificates. In order to help these students and citizens, our college holds a campaign of free distribution of official certificates . This event is organized in coordination with the Tahsildar. On 10th July 2016 , 594 certificates were issued to beneficiaries.
International Yoga Day
On 21st July, on the occasion of International yoga day, Our NSS unit celebrated Yoga day in our college. Training was given by Akshay Tembe (International player) and explained the need of yoga in our daily life
HIV Testing Camp
On the occasion of NSS week 27th September 2016 our 40 NSS volunteers visited Goveli hospital for their HIV check-up.
Immunization of Rubella and Haemoglobin Inspection
On 08th October 2016 National Service Scheme Department and Rotary Club of Dombivli organized a Rubella Vaccination and Haemoglobin Inspection camp. 420 Girls benefited from the formation of Women Development Forum.
Eye Testing Camp
On 29th November 2016 National Service Scheme had organized Eye Checking Camp at Rayate village. Mrs. Padmashree Jadhav Sarpanch of Rayate village was present there for Inauguration.During this camp doctor found 19 patients of Cataract. Villagers benefited from this camp.
Cancer Testing Camp
On 29th 2016 NSS department organized a cancer testing camp at rayate 29 female beneficiaries were checked in this camp. Full management was done by our NSS volunteers
Blood Donation Camp
STREET PLAY ON BLOOD DONATION:
On 13th October 2016National Service Scheme Department, organized a Blood donation camp regarding the awareness of blood donation in the village of Vaholi. People have been encouraged to donate blood by presenting street play.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP:
On 14th October 2016the blood donation camp was organized by the National Service Scheme Department in the village of Vaholi. Where 38 donors donated blood in this camp, in which 29 donors donated blood for the first time.
STREET PLAY ON BLOOD DONATION:
On 08th December 2016 Department of NSS volunteers tried to spread awareness among people about Blood donation by doing street play. For spreading awareness volunteers used Posters & sound system.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP :
On 9th December 2016 NSS department organized blood donation camp at college. On this occasion 65 donors have donated their blood including college staff, professors and students.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP –TITWALA :
“Everybody needs blood”, so blood donation is a need of time. NSS volunteers organized Blood Donation Camp at TitwalaOn 15th October 2017. At this time 90 donors donated blood.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP-ULHASNAGAR :
“Give Blood save life” so blood donation is a need of time. NSS volunteers organized Blood Donation Camp at Ulhasnagar On 5th November, 2017. At this time 45 donors donated blood in this camp.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP-GOVELI :
“One Donor one life”, so blood donation is a need of time. NSS volunteers organized Blood Donation Camp in College premises On 14th December, 2017. At this time 43 donors donated blood.
Street Play & Sidhhagad Masal Dauvd
01ST JANUARY, 2017: On the occasion of commemoration day of Hutatma Veer Bhai Kotwal and Hiraji Gomaji Patil, NSS Department had organized Siddhgad Mashal Marathon from college to Siddhagad. Students generated awareness among people by playing street plays
Distribution of Seeds
The NSS department had organized the program of free distribution of seeds and fertilizers in collaboration with Panchayat Samiti Kalyan on the occasion of ‘KRUSHI DIN’ On July 1st 2018. In this programme 58 farmers received benefits.
